Campaign Coordinator (PETA Australia)

Position Objectives:

  • To be a clever, trustworthy and highly organised multi-tasker
  • To manage and coordinate volunteers, members, celebrities and the media in order to draw attention to animal rights issues across the country

Sydney or Manila

Reports to:

Director of Campaigns – PETA Australia

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop and manage cutting-edge campaigns against animal abuse
  • Manage an agenda of celebrity events, protests and other campaign issues
  • Organise and maintain media and celebrity databases
  • Coordinate the production and maintenance of a campaigns website for PETA Australia
  • Work with volunteers
  • Review news releases
  • Help create ad campaigns and other materials
  • Develop ideas to increase activist and celebrity involvement in animal issues
  • Contribute to and oversee the writing and production of printed materials
  • Organise demonstrations and assist with photo shoots, as needed
  • Conduct media interviews and direct media calls to the appropriate person
  • Coordinate and delegate tasks
  • Travel for meetings, events and other activities, as needed
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the director

Qualifications:

  • Sincere interest in helping to abate cruelty to animals
  • Proven thorough knowledge of animal rights issues
  • Excellent working knowledge of Australian issues related to the job
  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be trustworthy, reliable and patient
  • Must be an excellent communicator who can deal with the public and co-workers both in a team environment and independently
  • Outgoing and personable manner
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed
  • Adherence to a vegetarian lifestyle preferred
  • Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA Australia's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA Australia's positions
  • Commitment to the objectives of PETA Australia
