Celebrity Marketing and Media Coordinator for China

Position Objective:

To coordinate PETA Asia's celebrity-based campaigns in mainland China

Term of Employment:

Full-time

Locations:

Hong Kong, Taiwan, mainland China, or Manila

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop marketing and media plans to reach specific audiences according to each celebrity campaign
  • Stay informed about celebrity and Internet celebrity news and gossip
  • Write and coordinate Web features for PETAAsiaPacific.com/cn
  • Coordinate print and video public service announcement concepts for celebrity campaigns
  • Pitch celebrity items and make follow-up calls, as needed
  • Prepare and manage news releases for celebrity campaigns
  • Develop media target lists for issue and campaign coverage
  • Approach celebrities or their management in order to garner support for PETA's campaigns
  • Manage celebrity campaign projects, maintaining communication between all relevant parties at PETA Asia and foreign affiliates
  • Coordinate celebrity photo shoots and other support efforts
  • Coordinate media efforts at the launch of each celebrity campaign
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the director

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of animal rights issues
  • Proven interest in celebrity news and gossip
  • Appreciation of creative work
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Mandarin
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Self-motivation and the proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed
  • Adherence to a vegetarian lifestyle
  • Supportive position vis-à-vis PETA's philosophy and the ability to professionally advocate PETA's positions on issues
