Researcher and Investigator for Indonesia
Position Objective:
To assist in PETA Asia-Pacific's work with regard to research and investigative work in order to bring about positive change in the lives of animals throughout Indonesia, as assigned by the director. This position is based in Indonesia or Manila.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Research federal statutes and associated regulations on animal welfare
- Conduct investigations of companies and industries that abuse animals
- Prepare complaints to local prosecutors and state and federal agencies with regard to PETA Asia-Pacific's investigations and campaigns in Indonesia
- Conduct research on a variety of animal protection and animal rights issues
- Assist with the development of legal action to further the organization's objectives
- Review news releases from other PETA affiliates and give input regarding their effectiveness
- Work with various PETA affiliates to create ad campaigns and other materials that further animal rights or push companies to change
- Conduct media interviews and/or direct media calls to the appropriate PETA representative
- Travel for meetings, events, or other activities, when necessary
- Perform any other duties assigned by the director
Qualifications:
- Passion for fighting cruelty to animals
- Ability to take initiative
- Analytical and results-oriented nature
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Strong research and investigative skills
- Familiarity with animal issues
- Knowledge of audio-visual technology
- Commitment to the objectives of the organization
