CARA G IS AN ANGEL FOR ANIMALS IN SEXY NEW PETA ANTI-FUR CAMPAIGN

Holiday Ad Asks People to Be Comfortable in Their Own Skin

For Immediate Release:
20 December 2011

Hong Kong -- Wearing nothing but sexy lingerie and a pair of wings and posing next to the words "For Heaven's Sake, Don't Wear Fur", Australian-born Hong Kong-based supermodel Cara Grogan -- better known as Cara G -- appears in a brand-new campaign ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia. Cara is a hostess of Channel V, and she also works for all Fox international channels. The ad goes on to say, "Be an angel for animals -- please boycott fur and fur trim."

The stunning ad was shot by ace photographer Timon Wehrli from Red Dog. The stylist was Christie Simpson. Cedric Tsang did Cara's hair, and her make-up was done by Pui Pui.

"This holiday season, I urge everyone to be comfortable in their own skin and let animals keep theirs", says Cara, whose exotic looks are a mix of her Australian, Singaporean, Irish, Thai and Arab heritage. "After all, anyone who wears, buys or sells fur is supporting one of the most hideous industries on the planet."

Animals trapped in the wild may suffer for days before they are bludgeoned, drowned or stamped to death by trappers. On fur farms, animals spend their entire lives pacing in tiny, filthy wire cages, where they go insane. Then they are anally electrocuted or gassed or have their necks broken. An investigation of fur farms in China -- now the world's largest fur producer -- revealed that foxes and raccoon dogs had their heads slammed to the ground and then were skinned alive.
